Description: The 15cm Diameter Plasma Ball is a colourful way of observing electrical discharges. Control the filaments using your finger to move them around the glass. The Tesla's Lamp contains a gaseous mixture. The base can produce high frequency electromagnetic waves that cause the gases to turn into plasma, which is an ionized gas. The ions produced emit some energy that is visible and appears as coloured "streamers". Putting your hand or finger on the glass creates an attraction spot, as the human body has less resistance than the glass. This allows for a brighter, thinner tendril of plasma to form. The filament will move as the gas around it heats up, and the gas becomes more buoyant, taking the filament along for the ride. How To Use It: Plug the lamp in and turn it on. Placing your hand or finger on the globe will allow you to "control" the strongest and brightest filaments. There is also a 'Sound' position, where the lamp only responds to loud sound like clapping your hands or loud music. Watch it react rhythmically to the music. WARNING: This item is not a toy and should not be placed near sensitive electronic equipment and is not suitable for people with a pacemaker.
